The Department of Justice & Attorney General (DJAG) under its Crime Prevention Branch has continued to deliver its Crime Prevention Projects to support youths in the country.
The Department has taken into consideration the National Youth Policy 2007-2017 to work with partners to implement effective community strategies to support the youths in unemployment, petty crimes and social issues in the crime hots spot zones in the communities.
The Department has already established Crime Prevention Projects Sites in National Capital District (NCD) and other provinces where it provides support to the youths in terms of providing cloth bales and day-old chicks. There were five established Crime Prevention Project Sites in NCD crime hot spot areas, one in Moarata, 6mile Dogura, Erima, Eight Mile and Gerehu.
In one of its recent programs, the Badili Second Hand Clothing Mart has donated 10 clothing bales to DJAG. The program was initiated through a partnership between DJAG and Community First PNG (CFPNG).
The Department will continue to work with CFPNG and other partners to ensure youths are benefited from these project areas and have impact.
